Hi! I’m Emily. I’m a community organizer, researcher, and writer from South Korea. I’ve moved eighteen times in my life, and as of 2026, I’ve spent more years outside of Korea than I have in it.
In another life I would have been: born in Germany, raised in Canada, or become a conference interpreter/punk band drummer. Some people who inspire me are: Andrea Gibson, Han Kang, and Song Sohee. My favourite poet is Liz Lochhead, and my favourite composer is Erik Satie.
When I’m not busy writing on this blog, I’m crunching data and copywriting at my human rights job, researching how anti-Asian racism plays out in Europe, or tending to my balcony garden.
