Hi! I’m Emily. I’m a community organizer, researcher, and writer from South Korea. I’ve moved eighteen times in my life, and as of 2025, I’ve spent more years outside of Korea than I have in it.

In another life I would have been: born in Germany, raised in Canada, or become a conference interpreter. Some people who inspire me are: Pina Bausch, Erik Satie, and Ferdinand Hempfling. My favourite poet is Liz Lochhead.

When I’m not busy writing on this blog, I’m crunching data and copywriting at my human rights job, researching how anti-Asian racism plays out in Europe, or tending to my balcony garden.
